My Friend's Place was built through community effort nearly 40 years ago when a group of passionate volunteers came together compelled by compassion and responsibility — to create a place of safety, hope, and possibility for young people in crisis.

Today, the challenges facing young people impacted by homelessness in Los Angeles are greater and more complex than ever before. And just as their needs have grown, so must our response.

We invite you to stand with us in this next chapter — to expand our reach and deepen our impact by delivering transformative care that changes the trajectory of young lives. To do so, we must intentionally design a space for the young people.

For 25 years, it has been my greatest privilege to walk alongside the extraordinary young people who come through our doors and to help guide My Friend's Place as it grew into the vibrant home we found at 5850 Hollywood Boulevard. Within these walls, we have witnessed countless stories of courage and healing moments when young people discovered their strength, embraced the support of community, and set their lives on bold new paths.

Now, we stand at the threshold of a new powerful chapter of transformation. Transformation that will afford My Friend's Place the ability to have greater impact in the young people's lives. It is with great excitement and responsibility that I invite you to join us in our vision and plans to rebuild our campus at 5850 Hollywood Boulevard. This is more than a new beginning — it is a declaration that with hope, community, and opportunity, every young person deserves a place to dream, to heal, and to thrive.
