Introducing Ending Youth Homelessness Honoree, Giacomo Gianniotti

Ending Youth Homelessness: A Benefit for My Friend’s Place is quickly approaching on Wednesday, October 19! At this annual event, My Friend’s Place has the great privilege to recognize outstanding individuals and organizations working to end youth homelessness, one young person at a time. These champions make transformative opportunities for homeless youth in Los Angeles possible, and we are excited to share more about this year’s inspiring honorees.

Giacomo Gianniotti has been volunteering at My Friend’s Place for more than a year. In working with My Friend’s Place, Giacomo says he has found a home of like-minded, incredible people who are altruistic beyond belief, and shares that he is so proud to be a part of what My Friend’s Place is doing year after year for the homeless youth of Los Angeles—a cause that is very near and dear to his heart. This past Spring, Giacomo recruited more than 40 of his fellow Grey’s Anatomy cast and crew to run the Los Angeles Tough Mudder Half on behalf of My Friend’s Place, raising worldwide awareness around the issue of youth homelessness and more than $15,000 in support of My Friend’s Place.

Giacomo is an Italian/Canadian actor who got his roots in film and theatre from a young age. He has worked as an actor for over 15 years in film, television and stage; working in Canada, Italy and the United States. He is the co-founder and President of his film production company, Fired Up Studios, which is slated to shoot it’s first feature film in the summer of 2017, which Giacomo himself will star in. He is also a singer songwriter and spends most of his free time writing music and collaborating with other artists. He is most recently known for his role as Dr. Deluca on ABC’s Greys Anatomy.

We hope you will join us in celebrating Giacomo Gianniotti and all of our honorees at Ending Youth Homelessness: A Benefit for My Friend’s Place on October 19, 2016 in Hollywood, California. Tickets purchase, sponsorship opportunities and additional information can be found on our event website. For additional information, contact Susan Zeren Dutra, Director of Development, at 323-908-0011 x. 110 or sdutra@myfriendsplace.org
